Can I still get my money back?

Hi there, I wonder if you can give me any advice.

I leant money to someone and then found out they had been declared bankrupt. I visited them and they said they had left me off the list of creditors so they could continue to repay me the full amount owed. A while later I rang them to ask about the money at the same time sympathising with their situation and they promised to repay the money.

I bumped into them recently and asked when I would get my money back (as none repaid since the bankruptcy), the person's personality changed and they stated that their bankruptcy had been advertised and was now discharged. I was shocked and asked for the money again pointing out that it had been obtained when the person knew they are in money difficulties (I had been told a few months ago that this is illegal and someone else got their money back by pointing out that he had borrowed money at this time).
