Getting rid of Malware protection?!?

I got the stupid 'malware protection disgned to protect' virus. I've looked on forms and they all said to use malwarebytes. I had already downloaded that before so I opened up in safemore+networking and started running the malwarebytes program, and started the scan, it's still going but it still hasnt found anything, it's scanned over 24,000 objects and is still going but has found nothing. I dont know what to do. I've tried starting in normal mode but it wont let me open up anything!! How do I get rid of this virus?! Please help!
