Help with changing font color?

Help with changing font color?
Ok, so my tables on my myspace profile is black, so I have in the css a code that makes it so all the font is white, instead of having to add < font color=" color" > text here </ font > every time I enter new text, but now
I have some text that I want pink, but when I add the < font color=" pink" > text here </ font > it doesnt change the color, and i assume thats because of the css code, but my question is can i do it a diff way, like a < div > code or something else that might work to change the color?
